Tour Plan
Day 01 – Airport – Kotugoda. Wallawwa.
On arrival at the airport, you will be met by our rep and directly transferred to Kotugoda.Approx. 20mins drive to Kotugoda
Overnight stay at Wallawwa Hotel.
Room type: Wallawwa bedroom.
Day 02 – Kotugoda – Sigiriya. Jetwing Vil Uyana.
After breakfast you’ll leave for Sigiriya, approx drive of 4 hours. You’ll experience village life during your village tour. You can visit traditional villages and observe villagers day to day life pattern, domestic activities, and cultural framework. You’ll also experience a Bull cart ride, catamaran boat ride in the village lake, visit a traditional mud house and you can taste a typical Sri Lankan Lunch (Rice and curry) cooked by simple and very friendly village folk going about their daily routine.
Thereafter transfer to hotel.

Day 03 – Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa – Minneriya National Park – Sigiriya
After breakfast visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. (02hrs), another “World Heritage Site” and it was the Capital of Sri Lanka from 11th – 13th Centuries. It contains some splendid and spectacular statues. Lankatilake, Tivanka and Thuparama are the most beautiful and largest Image Houses and Tivanka has the best example of frescoes of the Polonnaruwa period. RankothVehera and Kirivehera are well preserved large stupas, and Gal Vihare – a rock shrine, has four Buddha statues, two seated, one standing and one reclining and ParakramaBahu statue are examples of Sinhalese stone carver.
Later in the afternoon, enjoy a 4 X 4 jeep safari at the Minneriya National Park. (04hrs) Minneriya National Park – 8889 hectares. This park is famous for its large population of Elephants in herds of 100 to 150 roaming in the jungle and seen in the catchment area of the lake. You are likely to see Elephants, Wild Buffaloes, Wild Boar, Spotted Deer, Sloth Bear, Sambhur, Crocodiles, Jackals, 9 kinds of amphibians, 25 kinds of reptiles, 160 species of birds.

Day 04 – Sigiriya – Matale – Kandy. Jetwing Kandy Hotel.
After breakfast, visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a “World Heritage Site” and the 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky” This is probably the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the 600-foot high rock. On its summit are the foundations of the Royal Palace, Water Tanks to supply water and all other buildings and at the edges the guardhouses. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of Frescoes of 21 life sized damsels in all the freshness and delicacy of their original colour. The Water Gardens, Fountain Garden, summerhouse, Boulder Gardens and the Caves with the enclosed are should not be missed.
Thereafter travel to Kandy en-route visit Matale spice Garden (03hrs) – You will see many spice gardens at Matale and in Mawanella on the Colombo-Kandy road where Cinnamon, Cardamom, Pepper Creepers and all other spice trees, plants and creepers are planted for visitors to see them. Spice products are also available for those who would like to buy them. At all Spice Gardens visitors are taken round explaining each tree and plant and at the end explaining the use of them food preparations.
Evening visit Kandy temple of tooth relic, which houses the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. This is an important landmark in Kandy. The Tooth is kept in a two-storey shrine fronted by two large elephant tusks and rests on a gold lotus flower, encased in jewelled casket that sits on a throne. The temple is decorated with beautiful local paintings and architectural features. Check-in to hotel

Day 05 – Kandy – Kegalle – Kandy
After breakfast, transfer to Kandy city & enjoy a local Cooking Demonstration. The cooking class will be led by a local cooking expert that knows all the secrets to a good Sri Lankan dish. He/She will explain us how the preparing of dishes in Sri Lanka works and teach us how to cook rice and curry. We will prepare a typical meal with 2/3 curries, and there are many to choose from. Some of the favourite Sri Lankan curries are: dhal curry, potato curry, chicken curry, eggplant curry, Fish Curry and so many more… After the cooking is done we will have time to enjoy our meal! Thereafter transfer to Millennium Elephant Foundation Millennium Elephant Foundation (MEF) a family run non-government organization (NGO) which is dedicated to improving the welfare of domestic elephants throughout Sri Lanka. MEF was started in 1999 in memory of Sam Samrasinghe. This is home of the new and ethical Elephant Walk Experience. A much better alternative to elephant rides and offering you an up close and personal experience.

Day 06 - Kandy – Nuwara Eliya. Jetwing Warwick Gardens
After breakfast, you’ll travel to Kandy Railway Station Enjoy a scenic train journey from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya.
Special Note: We generally obtain 1st class train tickets for all our clients, but first-class carriages, with air conditioning are very limited and trains are often cancelled at the last minute. Therefore we often face challenges in obtaining the tickets due to the very high demand. Hence cannot guarantee the train journey until we receive the tickets directly from the suppliers. Alternative arrangements will be made in such circumstances.

Today is at leisure to explore on your own or just enjoy the hotel’s facilities.
Day 08 - Nuwara Eliya – Bentota. Jetwing Saman Villas
After breakfast at hotel leave for Bentota, approx 5.5hrs drive to Bentota Check in to hotel and rest of the day at leisure.
