Tour Plan
Day 01 – Arrival Kolkata
Arrival at Kolkata Airport. Meeting & assistance on arrival and transfer to the city hotel. Rest of the day free as leisure. Overnight in Kolkatta.
Day 02 – Kolkata Sightseeing
After breakfast proceed for guided City tour. Explore Dalhousie Square , Victoria memorial (Closed on Mondays & National Holidays) , Jorasankho Thakur bari. (Home of Nobel Prize-winning poet Rabindranath Tagore) (Closed on Mondays & National Holidays), Dakhineswar Temple , Howrah Bridge, Belur Math, Kumartuli, Jain Temple. Later evening you can troll around the Park Street area. [Extra cost payable direct].Overnight in Kolkatta.
Day 03 – Kolkata – Bagdogara (By Air) Bagdogara – Darjeeling (75 kms / approx.. 3 hours)
After early breakfast On time departure transfer to city airport to board a flight for onwards destination.
Assistance at Bagdogara airport on arrival and drive to Darjeeling.Standing high in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2134m, ‘Dorje Ling’, or place of the Thunderbolt, offers breath-taking views of snow-capped mountain peaks, with the Kanchendzonga rising higher than all the others. Often referred to as the “Queen of the Hills”, it remains just as alluring with its tiny waterfalls, little villages and a narrow gauge railway track. Surrounded by World Famous Tea Gardens and snow-capped mountains, Darjeeling remains one of the mostexotic destinations. Graeme Westlake in his book ‘An introduction to hill stations on India’ refers to Darjeelingas having “A view Scarcely Unrivalled on Earth”. Arrive Darjeeling , check-in and rest. Day 04 – Darjeeling Local
Early morning visit Tiger Hill and back to hotel.Tiger Hill It is 13 kms from Darjeeling and one can see beautiful sunrise and Himalayan Range like Kanchandzonga , Mount Everest etc. One can see the horizon changing colors just before sunrise and then the entire Himalayan range turn golden. It is truly a majestic sight. Breakfast at the hotel and go for Enjoy toy train ride upto Ghoom then visit Ghoom Monastery & back by Innova (Subject to operation of this train & availability of the seats). Ghoom Monastery is oldest Monastery in the area which was built in 1875 and one can see the image of Mythey Buddha 15ft. height. Afternoon proceed for city tour exploring Himalayan Mountaineering Institute/Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (Both Closed on Thursday) . Tibetan Self- Helf Centre Or Refugee Centre (Closed on Sunday) This institute is run by Tibetan Refugees to preserve their handicrafts and one can see making of Tibetan Carpets, Leather work, Paintings and Wooden work etc. Back to hotel. Overnight at Darjeeling Hotel.
Day 05 –Darjeeling
Breakfast at the hotel, drive out to visit Happy Valley Tea estate, Later visit Japanese Temple & Peace Pagoda Also known as Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhist Temple, the shrine was built in 1972 and is located 10 minutes away from the Darjeeling town centre, on the hill of Jalapahar. Showcasing classic Japanese style of architecture, this resplendent white building offers visitors a serene and quiet sanctum where they can meditate and seek inner peace.. Evening walk at Observatory Hill (Darjeeling Mall Road) and Bhutia Busti Monastery.
Happy Valley Tea Estate is a renowned tea plantation and one of the oldest tea estates in the region and has garnered a reputation for producing high-quality tea. The estate spans over 437 acres and is located at an altitude of 6,800 feet above sea level. The tea produced in Happy Valley Tea Estate is exclusively handcrafted and processed using traditional methods of rolling, drying, and sorting. The tea is grown using sustainable agricultural practices and is renowned for its unique flavor and aroma. Apart from tea production, the estate also offers visitors a chance to witness the tea-making process and explore the lush green tea gardens. There is a museum on the estate that showcases the history and evolution of tea production in the region. Overall, Happy Valley Tea Estate is an important landmark in the tea industry, and a must-visit destination for tea enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
Important Note – Regarding Tea Garden/Estate on Sunday is the weekly holidays as such on Monday at Factory there will be no processing. Factory will remain closed during winter i.e. middle of Nov till Mar, also closed on Government holiday, National holiday and State holiday. Factory will remain closed for 7-8 days during festival period also i.e. Durga Puja/Diwali festival period).
Day 06 – Darjeeling – Peling via Rinchenpong. (75 kms / approx.. 3 hours)
Morning after breakfast, pick up from hotel and drive to Pelling visiting Rinchenpong.
RINCHENPONG is located in the former Kingdom of Sikkim and is located at an altitude of 1,650 m. If the weather is clear, you can expect magnificent views of the Kanchenjunga massif. Rinchenpong , recently accessible for tourists. This region is famous for its superb panoramas on the Kanchenjunga. You can take beautiful walks on a flat path, bordered by the forest and some small traditional houses. Visit in and around places in Rinchenpong.. Visit Rinchenpong Monastery and Reesum Monastery. Later transfer to Pelling , is another serene, mountain village which lies in the western districts of Sikkim. This village is situated at an altitude of 2000 mts (approx.) and commands a spectacular view of Mt.Kanchenjunga. Overnight at Pelling
Day 07 – Peling Local
After Breakfast visit to Khecheopalri Lake, Rimbi Waterfalls, Rabdanste Ruins & Bird Park.
Khecheopalri Lake: Khecheopalri Lake is considered to be one of the sacred lakes of Sikkim both by theBuddhist and the Hindus. The lake remains hidden in the rich forest cover. It is believed that birds do not permit even a single leaf to float on the lake surface. There is a motorable road from Pemayangtse right upto the lake area.
The Rimbi Waterfalls is one of the tourist attractions of Sikkim which is located about 12kms from Pelling at about 5kms from the Darap Village, another attraction of Sikkim. This waterfall can be seen throughout the year although in the rainy season it looks much more beautiful. The waterfall leads to Rimbi River and is famous for the recreational activities like fishing. The Karchen Powerhouse is the oldest powerhouse in west Sikkim. The powerhouse was built in the early 70s by the last king’ government. It used to supply water to all the neighbouring villages during that period.

Darap Cherry Village is one of the few places undiscovered where travelers looking for a taste of bucolic life can escape from the maddening crowds of touristic places. The word Darap is originated from the limbo word ’Tan-lop’ which literally means a plain or even land. It is located just 8 km from Pelling on the way to Khecheopelri and Yuksam. The area is mainly inhabited by the Limboo Community and other small communities like the Bhutias, Chettris, Tamangs, Rais, Gurungs and Lepchas live in harmony. The landscape is gently sloped unlike any other locations in the west of Sikkim. Because of its close proximity to Pelling, Darap has now become a potential destination for Village tourism.
Rabdantse Ruins: Rabdentse was the second capital of the former Kingdom of Sikkim from 1670 to 1814. The capital city was destroyed by the invading Gurkha army and only the ruins of the palace andthe chortens are seen here now. However, the ruins of this city are seen close to Pelling and in West Sikkim district in the North-eastern Indian state of present-day Sikkim. Overnight in Peling
Day 08 – Peling – Kalimpong (90 kms / approx. 3.5 Hours)
Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Kalimpong. At an altitude of 1250m, Kalimpong’s location is ideal for a pleasant, relaxed getaway. Its clement weather has made Kalimpong’s orchids and gladiole well renowned. Up to the early 1700s, the Kalimpong area was part of the Sikkim raja’s domain. In the early 18th century, the Bhutan king also took it over. In 1865, after the Anglo-Bhutan War, it was annexed to Darjeeling. Scottish Missionaries came here in the late 1800s. The town thrived as a wool trading center with Tibet till 1950s. Today it’s a quiet hill resort and a haven for retired people. Upon Arrival check in at booked Hotel for Overnight stay in Kalimpong.
Day 09 – Kalimpong
After breakfast visit: Mangal Dham , one of the most significant religious centres in the beautiful hill station of Kalimpong. The place was built in the memory of Guruji Shir Mangaldasji Maharaj who in 1940 arrived at Kalimpong and made it his home. He got several orphanages, schools and temples constructed here to serve God and humans. Spreading over an area of about two acres, the temple features a prayer hall on the top floor where idol of Raj Shyamji is placed. Later visit Deolo hill , is one of the two hills in-between whom the town of Kalimpong is nested, the other being the Durpin hills. The hill at 5590 feet is the highest point of Kalimpong and offers a breath taking view of not only the Kanchenjunga range but the entire town of Kalimpong, the surrounding villages of Relli Valley, Teesta River as well as the snow clad hills of Sikkim. The hill top is marvelous parkland with wonderful view points and a sprawling garden. Also visit Durpin Dara – Offering the panoramic view of the town of Kalimpong, the snow clad Himalayan ranges of West Sikkim, the Teesta river and its valleys. Later proceed for Zang Dog Palri Fo-Brang Monastery – This is a fairly new monastery located in Durpin Dara, from here one can get an exclusive panoramic view of the town and surroundings. Later visit Tharpa Choling Monastery at Tirpai hill and Thongsa Gumpa. Post that back to hotel. Overnight at Kalimpong
Day 10 – Kalimpong – Bagdogara (80 kms / approx. 3 Hours)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Airport for trip back home.
